THANK YOU, EVERYONE for the wonderful birthday wishes and greetings! How very sweet of all of you!

I had a nice birthday yesterday. My dh and I ate an early supper of Applebee’s. I had a really nice and tasty steak and my dh had their lime chicken. It was all ‘great eats’!

And, we had snow here in SWMO this past Thursday. We didn’t have a lot of snow, more of just a ‘dusting’ but it had ice underneath it. So area schools were cancelled. Plus it was 15 degrees outside and much too cold for students to wait in the dark for the school buses.

But Friday and Saturday and today have been lovely with temps near the upper 40′s. My kind of weather.

Do any of you watch the ABC tv show, “Exteme Home Makeover”? That might not be the exact name of the show. Anyways, this past November they came to Joplin, MO (which is just 8 miles north of me) and built 7 homes for 7 families in 7 days! They had thousands and thousands of workers to help them. Oh, my, but what a wonderful thing they did for these 7 families. One family had lost 2 little sons to the Joplin Tornado of 5/22/11 and another family had lost 1 little boy, too. The houses were fully furnished and decorated for each family and each house was built very different from any of the other 7 houses. While the building took place for that week, the families were sent to Disney World in Orlanda, Florida.

The show was very touching and heart rendering. I could not help crying when watching it, especially when the families were talking about their children who had died in the tornado.

And it was so uplifting to see so many ‘strangers’ come to help these 7 families in such a major way.

I have no idea how each family was chosen for the 7 houses. After all hundreds of families lost their homes and some loved ones, too. But, still, it was a wonderful and heart-warming thing.

    Selinda
